SV DB GD CH Doklao Blu Tia Stardust was 5th Best Group 3 Spay cat of Year in 2010 and continues to do well on the show bench in 2011
Our names are Eva Krynda and Jose Escoriza, and our small cattery is located in the inner west of Sydney, Australia.
We have been breeding and showing Korats under the Doklao prefix since 1994. Our Korats are very much part of our family and have access to a large enclosed outdoor garden. We have up to four litters of kittens in any one year that we raise inside our home and underfoot with lots of tender loving care and individual attention. Our Korats are provided with a clean and stimulating environment, quality food and veterinary care along with lots of love and human company. We breed for good health and temperament and so that others may experience the joy of being owned by a Korat. We also work with breeders around the world to preserve and promote the Korat breed to the public and for showing.
Our association with Korats started in 1992 with our first Korat neuter ‘Ziggy’. We wanted a companion for our then ageing toy poodle ‘Monty’ who had grown up with our family cat ‘Smokey’. While looking for an outgoing breed of cat we saw an advertisement for Korat kittens. At the time our only knowledge about the breed was gleaned from information in cat books. Not long after, we met the little ball of steel wool and it was love at first sight. A delightful and playful boy, Ziggy’s antics never failed to amaze us. He had a true Korat temperament – mild, with a will of iron! Ziggy was not afraid of anything and was convinced that he could do anything he had not previously been told not to, adapted quite easily to new situations, and had good self confidence. Playful, loyal and affectionate, Ziggy became good friends with Monty, our poodle. His premature death left a huge hole in our lives and a determination to learn more about this rare and little know breed.
We acquired our first Korat queen Rursai Dtook Ga Dtah (Zoe) in October 1993. Zoe was nine months old at the time and a bit more reserved than Ziggy. However, she soon made friends with Monty and taught us everything, and more, about Korats. We had our first Korat litter in January 1994 under the Sommerglen prefix. The six kittens were a delightful introduction to the world of breeding. We kept a neutered male kitten from this litter as a companion for Zoe, and for showing. Sommerglen Yu Lin, or ‘Wiggy’, was a wonderful pet and a successful show cat, before his untimely death in 1999.
Sadly, Zoe died in November 2004 after a short illness, which she fought with the same courage as she showed in her beautiful life.

Now let us tell you a bit about our current Korats:
BZ DB GD CH DOKLAO Blu Bayu Female
DOB: 5 August 2007
Know as B-B, she is the daughter of GLD DB GD CH Ratchasima (Aust) Gi-Gi Moon Dancer. She is a playful and affectionate girl with a soft doe eyed expression. B-B can be reserved around strangers until she gets to know them. She likes climbing and playing with water and doing the mad kitty chase with her best friends Tia and Suri. B-B has proven to be an excellent and caring mother who likes sharing the mothering role with Suri. On the show bench B-B has won quite a few top five placings and was awarded Best in Show Female, Ring 1 by Ann Stickland (Vic) at the Siamese Cat Society Show on 24 May 2009.
DOB:15 June 2009
Affectionately called ‘Suri’, this lovely young female was named after a famous Thai princess from Korat. Suri loves all types of games and toys. She is delightful and outgoing Korat with a big personality. Suri has big green expressive eyes, a sweet expression a lot of silver tipping in her coat. She has been doing well in shows enjoying all the attention from judges and the public. At the 2010 St George Cat show Suri was awarded Best in Show Female in Ring 1, by Carla Bizzell (CFA – USA).
Suri had her first litter of kittens in September 2010 and proved to be a good and caring mother. In 2011 Suri has continued to do well in shows winning many top 5 placings.
DOB: 7 December 2009
‘Yoyo’ as we call her arrived from Finland in September 2010. She was bred by Outi Niemi and is an important addition to our breeding program. Yoyo is a very sweet and affectionate female with a nice temperament. She is very elegant with a solid build and a lovely silky coat. Yoyo enjoys spending time with Ash. She proved to be an excellent mother with her first litter of seven kittens born in early March 2011.
DOB:12 November 2007
The gorgeous Tia
Tia is a third generation Doklao queen. She was the only kitten in a litter born to GD DB GD CH Doklao Chintina Blu Rose (Rosie) When she was four weeks old B-B joined the family and they have been inseparable ever since. Tia is always busy and on the go inventing new games and getting up to mischief. She has a lovely short coat, sweet expression and luminous green eyes. Tia loves to meet and greet visitors and is especially fascinated by children. Show judges especially like her silky coat and beautiful green eye colour. Sadly Tia had to be spayed after her first litter of kittens. She is the mother of Doklao Blu Thao Surinari.
Tia is currently enjoying a successful show career as a spay. Her significant show wins in 2010 include Best in Show Spay in Ring 1, by Fabrice Calmes (Fife France) at the Federal Cat Show and Best in Show Spay in Ring 1, by Carla Bizzell (CFA – USA) at the St George Cat Show.
Tia’s successful show season means she achieved enough show points to be awarded the 5th Best Group 3 Spay Cat of the 2010. In 2011 Tia has continued to do very well on the show bench winning many Top 5 and Best Female Spay Cat placings.
DOB: 25th May 2000
The handsome ‘Mr Yindee’
Yindee came to us in 2002 from Professor Bill Gustafson, Nebraska, USA, as part of a line exchange to introduce new blood lines into our Korat gene pool. He is a regal and charming boy with a gentle disposition. He enjoys being around the girls and watching kittens at play. Yindee has a strong and muscular body, an expressive face with wide set luminous green eyes. He has sired some very beautiful kittens, including Rosie.
SV DB GD CH Doklao Blueberry Ash Male
DOB: 26th March 2009
The delightful Ash
‘Ash’ is Lilyput’s son from her last litter. He has grown into a well built, strong and muscular male Korat. Ash is very friendly and engaging and curious about everything and everyone. He enjoys playing chasing games with the girls. He is laid back and relaxed and an important addition to our breeding program. On the show bench Ash has been awarded quite a few top five placings and has become well know for his vocal chords. Ash has sired some lovely kittens with still more to come in 2011.
The “other” boy
Sawadas Micky Finn
Breed: British Blue Shorthair
DOB: 12th May 1996
Micky is a British Blue boy and not a Korat. He is a vasectomised male cat that the girls visit in between litters. He is a sweet and gentle boy who really enjoys his brushing sessions. We think that he is learning to speak Thai Korat as he often has long chat sessions with the Korat clan.
